热带气旋的自动预报系统(ATCF)

美国海军的热带气旋自动预报系统(ATCF)是为关岛联合台风警报中心(JTWC)研制出的一种IBM-AT兼容软件包,它是为协助预报员做出热带气旋预报而设计的.该系统可用图形方式显示出热带气旋的路径、位置坐标和预报资料以及天气场和无线电探空仪的观测结果.利用这些基本资料,ATCF还可做出如热带气旋警报这类的报文.个人计算机的计算能力使ATCF得出某些产品,如北太平洋西部的气候平均情况和持续性资料及最佳客观路径指导预报.ATCF可以自动存储所有的热带气旋资料,计算出实时的和过去的风暴预报误差的统计特征,还可使预报人员存取1945年以来的任意一次路径资料.ATCF使热带气旋的预报方法标准化,从而确保预报人员不会忽略掉所应考虑的重要的决定性步骤,ATCF使预报员的人工绘图和在记录板上记录资料这类耗时性工作自动化.该系统虽然是专为JTWC设计的,但其适应性很广,已为美国海军之外的部门选用.     

辽宁金伯利岩中镁铝榴石与金刚石的关系

辽宁金伯利岩中镁铝榴石的含量与金刚石的含量成正比。富含矿的岩体中镁铝榴石颜色有紫色、红色和橙色等种类,其中以紫色的为主,金刚石的含量越多紫色类型所占比例就越大。 镁铝榴石中Cr_2O_3和CaO的含量随其颜色的加深而升高;Al_2O_3、MgO、TiO_2的含量变化则相反。富矿岩体中富铬(>5％)镁铝榴石的含量高于中等含矿和贫含矿的岩体。 文中还列出了山东和贵州金刚石矿中镁铝榴石的资料以资对比。     

Development of symbiosis-specific genes as biomarkers for the early detection of cnidarian-algal symbiosis breakdown

Coral bleaching, i.e. the loss of dinoflagellate symbionts from cnidarian hosts, is occurring globally at increasing rates, scales, and severity. The significance of these bleaching events to the health of coral reef ecosystems is extreme, as bleached corals exhibit high mortality, reduced fecundity and productivity and increased susceptibility to disease. This decreased coral fitness leads to reef degradation and ultimately to the breakdown of the coral reef ecosystem. To date there has been little work describing the application of biomarkers to assess coral health. The most commonly applied biomarker is, in fact, the bleaching event itself. We are interested in developing early warning biomarkers that can detect coral stress before bleaching occurs. Recently, several genes that are likely to function in regulating interactions between cnidarians and their symbionts have been characterized, using the temperate sea anemone Anthopleura elegantissima as a model species. One "symbiosis gene" identified from the host genome, sym32, is expressed as a function of anemone symbiotic-state, where sym32 expression is higher in symbiotic cf. aposymbiotic (symbiont-free) anemones. Real-time quantitative RT-PCR suggested that the level of sym32 expression was correlated with the abundance of algae in the host. Furthermore, laboratory exposures of anemones to low levels of cadmium (0, 20, 100 microg(-1) CdCl2; 14 days), which caused no change in algal cell numbers, resulted in a down-regulation of sym32 compared to controls, indicating that sym32 expression may serve as a new sensitive early warning biomarker of cnidarian-algal symbiosis breakdown.     

自动气象站数据异常的原因分析

1 硬件设备问题引起的数据异常 1.1 数据全部缺测 (1) 采集器损坏导致无法采集数据,出现数据全部缺测.(2)采集器电源系统故障,致使定时数据无法采集,出现要素全部缺测.(3)通信线路出现故障.当自动气象站的防雷板、终端机的串口或连接卡、串口隔离器被雷击、通信线缆出现断开或其他因素导致开路都是导致自动气象站数据全部缺测的原因.

Geochemical behavior of 210Pb and 210Po in the nearshore waters off western Taiwan

Dissolved and particulate (210)Pb and (210)Po were determined at 15 stations along the coastline off western Taiwan in April 2007. The (210)Pb activities in dissolved and particulate phases fell within a relatively small range of 2.4-5.2 dpm 100 L(-1) and 1.0-3.2 dpm 100 L(-1), respectively. The dissolved and particulate (210)Po activities also fell within a small range of 0.8-3.4 dpm 100 L(-1) and 1.1-2.9 dpm 100 L(-1), respectively. The correlation of the distribution coefficients (K(d)) of (210)Pb and (210)Po with particle concentration in turbid waters are not as evident as in the open ocean. The mass balance calculation shows that the residence times of (210)Pb and (210)Po with respect to particle removal from the nearshore waters ranges from 3 to 15 days and from 14 to 125 days, respectively. The flux of particulate organic carbon was estimated by (210)Po proxy and ranged from 4.8 to 33.7 mmol-C m(-2) d(-1).     

Trace metal concentrations in southern right whale (Eubalaena australis) at Península Valdés, Argentina

The presence of essential (Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, Ni and Al) and non-essential trace metals (Cd and Pb) was tested in liver (N=26) and kidney (N=42) from dead Southern Right Whale (SRW--Eubalaena australis) calves found beached in Península Valdés, Argentina. Essential metals were detected in all samples, particularly in hepatic tissue; though Ni and Al were accumulated mainly in the kidney. Cd and Pb were not detected in any samples. Sex and length of calves did not influence metal levels found, nor did the geographic location of carcasses. Our findings for essential metals were similar to those reported for mysticetes in other parts of the world. Except for a previous report on one SRW calf, this is the first data on trace metals for this species in Patagonia. This information is vital for SRW management considering increasing human pressures impacting their feeding and breeding grounds.
